Abstract

This paper used two case studies to assess the role of research in policy formation and fishery management. One case study is of measures to limit the mortality of dolphins taken when tuna are harvested in the Eastern Tropical Pacific (ETP). The other is measures taken to limit the harvesting of Southern Bluefin Tuna in a national and international fishery.
