Abstract

This paper looks into the production trends, the status of pelagic fisheries and the various biologial aspects of fisheries mangement of these stocks in the India. Focuses on the fisheries production trends, fishing methods and the need to extend the fishing grounds to deeper waters or shift to other resources. Provides statistical information on the major pelagic stocks.
