Abstract

This article discusses why the Indian Government should support the proposed ILO work on a fishing convention when it comes up for adoption in June 2007, on the ground that it could benefit all Indians employed as fishers on board vessels of other flag states, as well as those working on board large and small scale fishing vessels in India.
