Abstract

The fifty-ninth session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women was held in New York from March 9-20, 2015. At this session, and in the context of the Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing in 1995, a review and appraisal of the implementation of the outcomes of the Conference and of the twentythird special session of the General Assembly was undertaken, entitled “Women 2000: gender equality, development and peace for the twenty-first century”.
