Abstract

This report descibes the marine turtle nesting populations on Masirah island and in the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen.A tagging programme was initiated because tag returns will help clarify the movements of marine turtles in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Major recommendarions include the setting aside of marine turtle breeding sanctuaries and the management of sea turtle stocks on a regional basis.
