Abstract

I was surprised by the editorial comment in SAMUDRA Report No. 24, “Sloganeering in Seattle”. There are a number of reasons why I think then editorial was, unusually, unfortunate. First, I personally found the title offensive for those many NGOs that have prepared for months both the forms and the contents of the Seattle protests. In fact, together with street demonstrations, a host of activities had been arranged for information sharing and strategy planning.
