Abstract

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call for transformative solutions, integrated approaches and innovative pathways to achieve sustainable development. They also recognize the fundamental role played by sustainable agriculture, forestry and fisheries in connecting people, planet and prosperity. In focusing action toward its global goals of ending hunger and poverty through the sustainable management and utilization of natural resources, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations is actively working to support 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. In this respect, the FAO Strategic Framework for 2022–2031 sets out our work for the future through transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agri-food systems for better production, better nutrition, better environment, and a better life for all, leaving no one behind.
