The Pacific Strategic Plan for Agricultural and Fisheries Statistics (P-SPAFS) aims to improve the quality and quantity of statistics in the Pacific region for evidence-based policy-making, and for the successful achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. This strategic plan was initiated in 2015 through a regional meeting of agricultural statisticians and planners from several Pacific countries. The work is supported by a partnership between the Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics, the Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (FAO) and the Pacific Community (SPC). The strategic plan is a living document and provides a framework that can guide policy-makers and decision-makers towards a common vision of the development of a sustainable agricultural statistics system in the Pacific region.
