Abstract

The nineteenth session of the Western Central Atlantic Fishery Commission (WECAFC) was held in Barbados and virtually, 6–8 September 2023. The Commission adopted two regional fisheries management recommendations and endorsed three other conservation and management measures. The Commission also stressed the importance of keeping the Sargassum issue on the agenda of WECAFC moving forward. The Commission also endorsed the Framework of Cooperation between the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas and WECAFC, made progress in the review of its new Rules of Procedure and endorsed the 2023–2025 Programme of Work
