Abstract
While there have been numerous studies of the tsunami response, , the documentation of the wide canvas of tsunami response has been patchy. A comprehensive overview is lacking. Even the stories of what transpired in individual sectors like shelter, fisheries, alternative livelihoods, health, education, psycho-social support, social security, etc., have not been documented adequately. The primary objective of the study is to document the tsunami response in two of the key sectors—shelter and fisheries—and drawing lessons from them. Carried out ten years after the disaster, the study aimed at understanding and documenting not only what had happened in the initial aftermath of the disaster but also the evolution of the rehabilitation and recovery process and the current status.
