Abstract

Fisheries subsidies have become a leading international issue for a simple reason: fish stocks around the world are facing an unprecedented crisis of depletion, and inappropriate subsidies are a real part of the problem. This pamphlet serves as a general introduction to the fisheries subsidies issue and its current state of play at the WTO.
