Abstract

At a meeting in New Delhi, India, on 21 November 1997, during the formation of the World Forum of Fish Harvesters and Fishworkers (WFF), fisherfolk and their supporters from around the world declared that day as World Fisheries Day (WFD). Since then they have continued to recognize 21 November as a special day.
