Abstract

The main post-harvest focus has been on distribution and marketing systems. Goods Handling and Processing have been accorded less priority but now quality has been given preference. This documents the post -harvest activities in India, and an overview has been provided for West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu on the fisheries and the state economy, demand for fishery products, supply of fishery products and transformation of fishery products.
