The study focuses on Pakistan's marine fisheries including the territorial waters of Sindh and Balochistan. The analysis looks into compliance with SPS and MSC standards. Food safety standards covers both pre-processing and processing activities. Exporters and processors have less control over pre-processing and harvesting activities, ultimately affecting their exports. Compliance with such standards is key to Pakistan's fish exports and foreign exchange earnings and ensuring livelihoods for coastal fishing communities.
