Abstract

Based on the increased demand for eco-labelled products, this author recommends that ecolabelling be approached in a pro-active way; capacity and awareness building on ecolabelling principles, criteria as well as certification procedures should provided to ASEAN countries; practical implementation of ecolabelling should be demonstrated through pilot projects, originating from existing sustainable practices; market research should be conducted to identify potential markets and pricing systems.; communication with markets should be along the development of ecolabelling. All of these will urge the communities to take up ecolabelling.
