Abstract

This communication briefly presents the results of investigations on penaeid prawn fry resource in the estuaries and backwaters of Kamataka and Kerala. The area of investigation covered all the important estuaries and backwaters from Karwar (Kamataka State) to Quilon (Kerala). essential requirements for cultivating prawns is the procurement of seed of selected species for stocking in the grow-out ponds.
