Abstract

The Women in Fisheries Program (WIF) is a national program jointly implemented by the National Fisheries Authority (former Department of Fisheries and National Administration) and the Division of Fisheries and Marine Resources of Morobe Administration. The program is specifically aimed at encouraging women in coastal and riverine areas to participate in the utilisation of fisheries and marine resources to enable them to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of their communities and hence their country.
