On World Ocean Day (8 June), we celebrate the lives and livelihoods of small-scale fishing communities around the world. In Ghana's capital city, Accra, Madam (Gangaa) Sandra Osabutey explains how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected her smoked fish business. Unaffordable prices for fresh fish, along with a decline in demand from urban consumers, has led to a tight situation, she said, like "Azumah Nelson's title belt", referring to a popular Ghanaian boxer.
