Abstract

For 30 years. SEAFDEC has kept a relatively low profile while building technical expertise in four areas of fisheries development: marine capture fisheries, fisheries post-harvest technology, aquaculture technologies, and recently, marine resource development and management. So, when SEAFDEC turned 30 last December 1998, the celebration in Bangkok to mark this important milestone was also subdued but meaningful.
