Abstract

Ian Cartwright, ex-FFA Deputy Director, now fisheries consultant based in Launceston, Tasmania, has completed the external review of the famous SPC/ Nelson Polytechnic fisheries officers course which over the 1979–2002 period has trained close to 300 Pacific Island fisheries staff. Ian has had discussions with staff of the SPC Coastal Fisheries Programme at Noumea and the New Zealand School of Fisheries at Nelson.
