Abstract

The 2003 APIMTIMA meeting was a great venue for conducting this survey and assessing the potential of a regional project for the electronic networking of schools. The purpose of this brief survey was to obtain: 1) information on training institutions’ Internet readiness (connectivity, email and internet access, internet/computing skills); 2) information on what the schools would like to have on an institution website and what they use Internet for. This information/comments collected will provide baseline information for evaluating the need or limited use of electronic networking of maritime and fishing schools.
