Abstract

The five previous Asian Fisheries Fora have established a reputation as critical and valuable conferences for increasing fishery interests in the region and around the world. These meetings are known to be wellorganized and well-attended, with world-renowned keynote and contributing speakers. The 6th Forum lives up to this tradition, offering a well-designed programme, addressing various issues facing fisheries scientists and managers at the regional and global levels during these challenging and critical times. The Forum will tackle discussions on future directions for fisheries, including capture fisheries, aquaculture, post-harvest processing and other related areas of major concern. This is an important meeting for Asian fishery scientists and their counterparts in many countries, offering a unique opportunity to update knowledge on recent trends and advances in Asian fisheries.
