Abstract

This study addresses the issue of human rights in a new field, that of the artisanal fishing sector. Indeed, human rights are usually addressed by specific issues, particularly those related to labor rights (the freedom of association, trade unions, etc.), but not to broader rights issues concerning artisanal fishing. The issue of human rights related to a specific sector such as fishing and Fishermen’s access to resources and markets has not been much studied. This research is attempting to do so through the assessment of the level of application of target 14b of the SDG for Senegal.
