Abstract

This document reports on FAO’s contributions towards ending illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. It gives an overview of the international framework to combat IUU fishing, with a focus on considerations to enhance the implementation and effectiveness of the key relevant international instruments. It also provides a summary of recent and ongoing actions and initiatives in support of this objective and relevant outcomes for consideration by the Committee on Fisheries (COFI)
