Abstract
Marine biodiversity is higher in benthic rather than pelagic systems and in coasts rather than the open ocean since there is a greater range of habitats near the coast. This document deals with the different kinds of biodiversity and the characteristics of the marine biodiversity. Provides information on the various threats to the biodiversity and the legal framework of biodiversity conservation and methods to conserve the marine biodiversity.
