Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide information on a wide variety of social and economic variables in coastal areas of mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. MPA management, as an approach to coastal and marine conservation, has grown rapidly in Tanzania. It explores the links between the environment and poverty through long term management options for poverty alleviation through community driven coastal and marine management.
