Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to; a) Provide a brief overview of the current UK quota management system; b) Highlight some of the implications of the current FQA approach for UK quota holders; c) Describe the evolution of the Shetland Community Quota Scheme (CQS) and assess its effectiveness; d) Discuss whether CQS's can play a lasting role within the UK quota management system.
