The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) is responsible for the implementation of legislation pertaining to food quality and safety and use of harmful substances on aquatic products in the Philippines. It is also responsible for laying down the health conditions for production of fishery products for the EU markets.
