Abstract

In its latest ‘State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture’ report the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) alerted the international community to the dramatic state of the world’s fisheries: about half are fully exploited while another quarter are either overexploited (17%), depleted (7%), or recovering from depletion.
