Abstract

The Uruguay Round is - correctly - regarded as the most ambitious and comprehensive round of negotiations to have been conducted under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). It involved more contracting parties (109) and covered a larger number of negotiating issues (15) than any previous round.
