Abstract

The marine fisheries surveys and researches have for their objective an increase in fish production to an optimal level so as to obtain sustaining yields. For formulation and effective implementation of developmental programmes undertaken at Central and State Governmental levels, a knowledge of the magnitude of production in space and time, and in relation to crafts and gear employed in harvesting the resources is very essential. In the following tables, the marine fish production trends within the past 19 years have been summarized and presented
