Abstract

This paper addresses four different but inter-related sets of questions: what ways and why are environmental issues having a more pervasive influence on public policy and how, inparticular, are they relevant to international trade, how this would affect global trading pattern over time, impact of new trade liberalization initiatives have on the environment and the implications for countries in the Asia- Pacific region, in the context of APEC.
