Abstract

Takes stock of the economic research on the subject of trade and environment, which has developed in the shadows of public debate and seemingly without much influence. Points to the fact that, the ongoing dismantling of economic borders, reinforces the need to cooperate on environmental matters, especially on transboundary and global environmental problems that are beyond the control of any individual nation.
